Unique airstrip grounds pilots (happily) in mountain community Mountain Air is just 45 minutes from Asheville, NC, but about as private as a golf community gets. 3 days ago, the U.S. elected Barack Obama President. Since then, there has been lots of talk and gossip in the news and amongst friends and enemies. WNC: Mountain Living in Western North Carolina is a great publication to learn more about the area. I just read an article about Lydia Odell. She’s a tour guide for Western NC cascades.
